GC sorting union presidents into naughty or nice lists

While waiting on draft #2 of the compliance doc.
Where would you put your union prez?
SILVER SPRING, Md. — Third floor General Conference offices are abuzz with activity this December as administrators sort the names of union presidents from around the world into “naughty” or “nice” lists.

Union presidents that allow women’s ordination or critique GC draft documents at Annual Council have automatically had their names listed in bold on the “naughty” list.

Union presidents in North America, problematic parts of Europe and all of Australia are also considered naughty until proven nice.

To qualify for the “nice” list, union presidents have to be able to document that they have never clapped after a special music performance, no matter how good it was.

In addition, union presidents on the nice list must promise under oath that they voted against sending the compliance document back to committee at Annual Council 2017.

I’m smiling at your satire. But good satire is based to some degree on reality, and your posting definitely is based on current reality at the GenConf. Those who publicly swim against the mainstream of GenConf policy initiatives are fished out of the water, and that includes more than union presidents. Out of the water, the fish soon become irrelevant from the GenConf perspective, and irrelevant church men and women, however famous the name, are no longer asked to participate on important committees or to contribute to major new projects. Naughty, nice? If naughty, flip, flop. Fish out of water–several of them.
