Michigander Risks Life, Enrolls At La Sierra

Leap of faith.
LANSING, Mich. — Born and bred in Michigan, Peli Groso put everything on the line last Friday and enrolled at La Sierra University.

Donning a bulletproof vest, Groso quietly told only his most trusted confidants at Sabbath School that if he never saw them again, it had been a pleasure earning wilderness survival Pathfinder honors with them.

His tuition vehemently unsubsidized by his conference, Groso discretely bought the cheapest Greyhound ticket he could find out West this morning.

Quickly saying goodbye to his parents, Griso looked carefully over his shoulder, tucked the intelligent design booklet his dad had solemnly given him under his arm, and boarded the bus.

    Not by its name, but by its fruit, is the value of a tree determined. If the fruit is worthless, the name cannot save the tree from destruction. John declared to the Jews that their standing before God was to be decided by their character and life. Profession was worthless. If their life and character were not in harmony with God’s law, they were not His people. {DA 107.1}
