SILVER SPRING, Md. — Disney’s The Lion King has been approved by the Adventist Church as an approved “Sabbath movie.”

This means that Adventists will be free to watch the animated classic during Sabbath hours without so much as drawing the curtains.

The decision to approve the film was made after it was determined that the film “had animals.”

An official statement from the church said that “there is enough wildlife in The Lion King to practically qualify for the National Geographic channel which we all know is 100% Sabbath-appropriate.”

The statement reminded members that The Sound of Music is also sanctioned Sabbath-approved “because it has nuns.”
