COLLEGEDALE, Tenn. — Ivanka Trump, a Sabbath-keeping convert to Judaism, has agreed to talk about Sabbath observance at Southern Adventist University.
The First Daughter who has openly discussed the benefits of the Sabbath in the past, is expected to stress the value of a 24-hour space in the week for rejuvenation, family and spiritual growth.
Trump will address Southern’s student body at the start of the 2017-2018 school year.
The most high profile of Donald Trump’s children, Ivanka has already said that requiring male students to wear ties to vespers is a great idea “as long as the tie is Trump-branded.”
She has not confirmed whether or not she will endorse Southern’s famously strict approach to regulating student behavior on Sabbath.
“Over the years we have invested heavily in dreaming up an exhaustive list of Sabbath rules around here and we are hoping that inviting Ms. Trump will help us add a few more,” said Southern’s VP for Creative Fining, Morre Benjaminz.
