GC: Sarah Thomas Commissioned, Not Ordained To Officiate Super Bowl

SILVER SPRING, Md. – This morning the General Conference addressed the status of Sarah Thomas, the first female to officiate the Super Bowl.

“While we acknowledge that Thomas made history this week we just want to remind everyone that Thomas was commissioned, not ordained to her role,” said GC spokesperson, Colegio Viejo.

He added that a “responsible” reading of a handful of cherry-picked verses “has us convinced Paul would not have been cool with female Super Bowl ordination.”

Veijo added that the Florida Conference had been sent a letter warning it to “get on top of this kind of thing in the future” and coordinate with pro sports organizers in the state to “avoid unwelcome surprises going forward.”
