3ABN Airs USA vs. Thailand Without Score

WEST FRANKFORT, Ill. — In an Adventist first, the Three Angels Broadcasting Network (3ABN) aired a FIFA Women’s World Cup game.

The Adventist network agreed to air the USA vs Thailand soccer match as part of a new “sports evangelism” strategy. Missing from the broadcast, however, was any indication of the score.

3ABN viewers were left totally stumped by all the American celebrating at the end of the game.

The network said that the score had been hidden so as to discourage a spirit of “unhealthy competition.”

In addition, the network fast-forwarded and blurred any goals.
