Hi BarelyAdventist Readers,
BarelyAdventist usually sticks to satire and humor in these posts but both have been dispensed with this time.
Again: THIS IS NOT SATIRE.
Some of you probably saw the post published today titled “Adventist Church to end segregation of conferences after Charlottesville atrocities.”
Without meaning to, BarelyAdventist offended some people with this post. Our intent was to call for the church to rise above the racial divides that plague us. However, some saw the post as lacking sensitivity in view of our past and present struggles with institutional racism as a church. That was absolutely not the goal of the post.
To those that were offended, a sincere apology is offered. BarelyAdventist was created to help us think about God and our faith community from a fresh perspective. Our prayer is that it encourages growth in our community through self-awareness and self-deprecation. This time around BarelyAdventist missed the mark. The original post has been taken down.
Thank you so much for your support of BarelyAdventist. We love you!
Sevvy and the BarelyAdventist team
