In a recent speech, former President Donald Trump claimed that the US is “going to hell”, sparking a wave of responses from Adventists who believe that this is exactly what they have been predicting for years.
“Finally, someone in the political world is catching up to what we Adventists have been saying all along,” remarked GC Religious Liberty Director Dan Brown. “I just wish Trump had gotten a bit more specific about the second beast of Revelation 13 with two horns like a lamb but speaking like a dragon.”
“Trump’s reasons for thinking the US is going to hell are a bit different than what Adventists have been warning about,” said Andrews University political science professor, Jane Calypto. “Trump’s concerns stem from his recent criminal charges related to hush money payments made to cover up an affair with a porn star. But hey, whatever it takes to get people on board with the message, right?”
In any case, Adventists are feeling pretty smug right now. They’ve been trying to warn people for years about the moral decay and corruption that is rampant in society, and now it seems like even the former president agrees with them.
