LONDON, United Kingdom – Britain’s Chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, warned today that virtually unprecedented inflation meant ADRA ingathering targets this year would need to be increased substantially.
“Walking halfheartedly around your local postcode with a mostly empty ADRA can may have cut it in times past,” said Hunt in a statement this morning, “but I’ve been explicit that ingathering targets are going up this year.”
In order to help them up their game, Hunt challenged Adventists across the UK to “rediscover the lost art of profitable pubbing.”
The chancellor said that COVID had meant many Adventists had lost their formerly well-honed abilities to prance around packed pubs making ingathering appeals on Saturday nights but that “desperate times call for a recommitment to making persistent pitches of anyone nursing a pint.”
