Let’s not sugarcoat it: some days, life feels like it’s siphoning energy straight out of your soul. Not just tired—soul-tired. You’ve rested, prayed, maybe even done a little Bible study, but nothing seems to refill the tank. And somehow, you feel guilty about needing more rest. Welcome to the very real struggle of being a human Adventist.
Sabbath exists for exactly this reason. God didn’t give you six days of hustle just to hand you a seventh day of performance anxiety. He gave you rest because your soul matters more than your productivity. You’re not lazy. You’re not failing. You’re simply human, navigating a broken world while trying to be faithful.
Remember the Israelites wandering in the desert? Exhausted, hungry, frustrated, doubting everything. God didn’t chastise them for being tired. He provided manna. Daily. Consistently. Perfectly. Sometimes, spiritual life works the same way—you don’t have to figure it all out at once. You just need to trust that provision comes in exactly the measure you can handle today.
So when life drains you, give yourself permission to pause. Pray if you can, rest if you must, laugh if possible. Your faith is not measured by how much energy you can muster; it’s measured by how often you let God show up in your weariness.
You are not broken.
You are not behind.
You are exactly where God intends you to be—and He hasn’t forgotten you for a second.
