And here’s the battlefield now. Your phone buzzes about 150 times a day. Every single buzz is Babylon bidding for the one thing Nehemiah guarded hardest: his attention. The pioneers had a press and a prayer. You’ve got the whole world in your pocket. So the question is pretty simple. Are you going to use it, or is it going to use you?
Guard the morning watch. Protect the deep work. Keep the Sabbath as your weekly way of saying the world’s urgency doesn’t own you.
Pick up the trowel. Keep the sword handy. Don’t come down.
