MSNBC follows Trump tax returns with release of Adventist tithing records

Revealing numbers...
Revealing numbers…
NEW YORK, N.Y.— After dropping President Donald Trump’s 2005 tax returns on a curious public yesterday, MSNBC has promised to release Adventist tithing records today.

The tithing records of all baptized Adventists will be released online in a searchable database this afternoon.

Rachel Maddow will follow the database release with an in-depth analysis of the tithing habits of high-profile Adventists on her show tonight.

MSNBC executives agree that the release of Adventist tithing records doesn’t quite constitute the bombshell that was the closely-guarded Trump tax returns.

However, they decided to go ahead with airing the tithing numbers as, in the words of management, it was “certain to grow Adventist viewership. And in today’s crowded TV space, we’ll take any boost to viewership numbers we can get.”

So far the General Conference headquarters has not commented on the tithing information leak other than to say that “perhaps some public accountability will be the kick in the pants some of our stingiest members needed.”

The Bible does not teach that everyone should give ten-percent of their ongoing income. The modern practice of tithing has five basic elements expressed as everyone gives 10% of ongoing income. How do Bible facts about tithing actually fit with this teaching? In the Law of Moses, not everyone was required to tithe or give first fruits. Only those who were actually growing food or raising sheep or cattle were required by the Law to tithe the food or present first fruits. People from other occupations were not required to tithe since they had no harvest or growth of flocks to tithe or to present first fruits from. Not everyone tithed food who lived under the Law. No one under the Law tithed money at all.
Christ has only a few words to say about tithing. In those words, Christ does not say that everyone should tithe. He says that unbelieving Jews living under the Law should tithe food if they are growing it. He mentions three food plants. Christ is not addressing His disciples. He is addressing unbelieving Pharisees. The apostle Paul does not teach that everyone is obligated to tithe or to even to give. He teaches that giving is completely voluntary.

More lies to mislead the public. Notice, it is not labeled “Adventist satire and humor” anymore. That disclaimer has been removed from the top of this page. A lot of people never noticed it even when it used to be there. It’s even more misleading now. That’s why it is Fake News. It is not a “parable.” It is fraud. Not only is it fake, but it also makes us look stupid in the eyes of other denominations whose members read this and assume that it is true. Time to stop breaking the 7th Commandment. Find an honest way to make a living (perhaps recycling aluminum cans, or writing rap lyrics, or performing lobotomies on space aliens).

Is the “public” that stupid? I’m sure they have more intelligence and humor than you give them credit for. Can’t say I’ve ever seen any of these articles being quoted in “anti-adventist” circles.

Just look at the comments on some of these fake stories, and you will see a lot of people don’t realize this stuff is fiction. For example, the fake news of Chuck Norris converting to SDA and vegetarianism. Even many of “the elect” thought it was real. Just look at the comments. That is deception, pure and simple. And it’s all for the sake of the mighty advertising dollar. Sad.

Sevvy should work for Breitbart or the National Enquirer; he is talented at writing fairy tales. He could even make an “honest living” by helping the President invent conspiracy theories.

THE MAJORITY OF SDA DO NOT FOLLOW THE JEWISH 4TH COMMANDMENT AS THY PROCLAIM TO, HERE IS THE 4TH AS MOST OF YOU KNOW:
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: (MOST PEOPLE DO NOT WORK 6 DAYS A WEEK, SOME BUMS DONT WORK AT ALL)
THE 4TH COMMANDMENT TO THE JEWS WAS REALLY 2 LAWS IN 1. WORK 6 DAYS AND REST THE 7TH. BY THE WAY MANY PASTORS WORK 1 DAY (SABBATH) AND REST THE OTHER 6 DAYS). JUST SAYING.

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
