Loma Linda, Calif. — A devastating blow was dealt to the Loma Linda School of Dentistry’s Dental Hygiene program today as it was stripped of its accreditation.
The popular program lost its accreditation after it was confirmed that one of last year’s graduates had not successfully married a doctor.
Although Dental Hygiene program administrators have vowed to regain accredited status, many faculty members admit to seeing the writing on the wall.
“We should have known better than to let someone march that wasn’t at least engaged to someone in medical school,” said program spokesperso Rie Phund.
One of the few male dental hygiene students, Cal Gate, had assured concerned faculty before graduation last spring that he had several Roma dates lined up with cute medical students and that he was confident he would at least be engaged by the summer.
“He totally struck out,” admitted Phund. “When word got out that one of our grads was still single we knew it was just a matter of time before we took a hit.”
