Doug Batchelor: “They Came for the Barrel—Next They’ll Come for the Sabbath”

SACRAMENTO, CA — In an unscheduled live broadcast from a barrel-themed set, Pastor Doug Batchelor warned his followers that Cracker Barrel’s controversial logo change is “yet another unmistakable sign that the Great Shaking is at the door.”

Batchelor, surrounded by vintage signage from America’s most beloved country store, expressed alarm that “if a corporate giant can so easily erase the humble barrel, it’s only a matter of time before bureaucrats erase the Sabbath itself.

Batchelor linked the font-only logo to the incremental erosion of religious liberty. “They may start with the barrels, but soon it’s the hymnals, the haystacks, and then Sunday legislation itself comes around.”

Batchelor announced the launch of “Project Barrel Watch,” a grassroots movement dedicated to monitoring all restaurant logos for signs of the impending Time of Trouble. Supporters are encouraged to “remain vigilant, keep extra barrels in their garages, and always remember: when the logo falls, so does freedom.”

General Conference officials declined to comment, stating only that the Adventist logo “remains unchanged, for now.”
