BREAKING: GC President Köhler Joins the Heritage Singers, Says “I’ve Had Enough”

SILVER SPRING, Md. — In a surprise career pivot, General Conference President Erton Köhler has announced he’s hanging up his presidential duties and officially joining the Heritage Singers.

“After just a few years at the GC, I realized I’d rather be on the bus with these guys than in another endless committee meeting,” Köhler said while adjusting his blazer for Heritage formation. “Honestly, I’ve had enough.”

Eyewitnesses report Köhler looked happier than ever as he harmonized his way through a medley of We Shall Behold Him and Side by Side.

Heritage Singers leadership confirmed that Köhler has been slotted in as the “backup baritone/occasional sermonette” role, which includes both singing duties and reading EGW quotes between sets.
“Erton brings a much-needed GC gravitas to the group,” said one member. “Plus, he already knows how to travel constantly and sleep in church basements, so he fits right in.”

Meanwhile, sources at the GC building admitted they weren’t too worried: “The committees will go on without him. They always do.”

Fans are already buzzing about the first Heritage Singers album with Köhler, tentatively titled From Silver Spring to Southern Gospel: The Exit Interview.
