LOMA LINDA, Calif. — Openly Christian heartthrob and recording artist Justin Bieber has accepted an invitation to be the praise leader for Loma Linda Academy’s Week of Prayer later this school year.
Academy administration explained that due to what many have noted as a journey of re-invention and maturation for the young star, the time was right to invite him to lead worship for the school.
“Many of our students have been Beliebers since Justin’s “Baby” days so we are confident this will be our highest-profile Week of Prayer in years,” said Academy Chaplain, Nolo Creo. “The media often glosses over the fact that Justin has performed in Christian settings ever since he was a young child growing up in church. This Week of Prayer will be a return to Justin’s roots.”
Creo stressed that frequent Bieber sightings at various churches plainly demonstrate the fact that Bieber is a natural choice as a guest worship leader. “Justin is a churchgoer and he knows all the popular praise songs. He may not be used to performing for Adventists but he has promised to listen to feedback and coaching.”
Creo said that so far the only guidance he has given Bieber is to avoid excessive movement on stage and to wear a long-sleeve shirt to cover his ever-expanding collection of tattoos.
