Uber Eats Now Delivering Adventist Communion Kits

Share

Uber Eats has announced its latest offering: Adventist Communion Kits. Now, Adventists everywhere can experience communion from the comfort of their own homes, or anywhere their Uber driver can navigate.

The idea came to fruition after Uber executives noticed a gap in the market during the pandemic. “We realized that while people could get their favorite vegan cheese and soy lattes delivered, they were still missing out on something vital: communion,” said Uber Eats spokesperson, Manna Shefsky.

The kits come in a variety of options to cater to the diverse tastes within the Adventist community. There’s the “Classic,” featuring traditional unleavened bread and 100% pure grape juice, and the “Gluten-Free” option for those avoiding the scourge of wheat. For the more health-conscious congregants, there’s even a “Whole Grain” kit, made with artisanal flour and organic, cold-pressed grape juice.

Each kit is carefully prepared and packaged to maintain reverence. “We want to ensure that even though you’re using an app, the sanctity of the sacrament remains intact,” Shefsky added, noting that each delivery comes with a small, biodegradable chalice and a wafer sealed in eco-friendly wrapping.

Adventists can also choose the “Family Pack” for larger gatherings or the “Solo Blessing” for a more intimate experience. The kits are perfect for any occasion, whether it’s an impromptu home church service or a prayer meeting in the park.

The collaboration has already received rave reviews. “I was in the middle of a potluck crisis when I realized I’d forgotten the communion bread,” said Sister Eunice, an Uber Eats early adopter. “In less than 30 minutes, an Uber driver named Gabriel—no joke—arrived with our kits. It was nothing short of miraculous. And Uber Eats charged my credit card after Sabbath so I didn’t even end up paying for anything during Sabbath hours!”

Of course, there have been a few hiccups. One member reported receiving an Uber Eats Communion Kit alongside a bag of French fries, causing momentary confusion during a virtual communion service. “It was awkward, but the kids were happy,” the member admitted.
