Once upon a quinquennium, someone thought Adventism could be managed like a well-behaved Pathfinder club.
Turns out… it can’t.
Because the church isn’t a corporation. It’s a vibrant mix of potlucks, WhatsApp groups, and independent ministries, all passionately seeking to follow God’s vision in their own way.
Every time someone tried to tighten the reins, the Holy Spirit said, “Aww, that’s cute,” and sent a wave of YouTube preachers, TikTok prophets, and meme pages.
The truth? You can’t centralize conviction. You can’t micromanage conscience. And you definitely can’t out-organize the Great Controversy.
The future of Adventism won’t be decided in committees. It’ll be led by God — often through comments sections, podcasts, and small groups that meet in cafés instead of boardrooms.
Control was a comforting illusion. God’s guidance is the real revolution.
