Local Adventist Church Wants to Know If They Can Use Taylor Swift’s Engagement Flower Leftovers This Sabbath

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. – In a move lauded by some as “ingenious stewardship” and criticized by others as “unprecedented worldliness,” the Lee’s Summit Seventh-day Adventist Church has reportedly sent a request directly to the private residence of pop star Taylor Swift and her fiancé, Travis Kelce. The letter, delivered by a church delegation on Monday, inquired about the availability of the flowers from the couple’s recent engagement.

“We have been blessed with a wonderful, generous community,” said a senior elder who chose to remain anonymous, citing a need for discretion in such a high-profile matter. “But with the costs of airconditioning and a new carpet, our floral budget is, shall we say, a prayer request.”

The church’s request detailed its intention to collect, sort, and display the flowers for this Sabbath’s services, arguing that it would be a “testament to God’s beautiful creation, regardless of its previous purpose.” The letter also extended an invitation to Swift and Kelce to attend the service and witness the floral transformation, especially if they make it in time for offering.

However, not all members are in full bloom over the idea. A faction within the church has expressed concern that using the flowers could send the wrong message to the congregation, particularly the youth. “What if the flowers have been blessed by a secular artist? We must be vigilant,” said a long-time member of the church’s finance committee.

While the church awaits a response from Swift and Kelce, a small group of deacons has been assigned to a 24-hour watch near the property’s perimeter, ready with vans and buckets, prepared to spring into action at a moment’s notice.
