We spend so much time looking outward—at secularism, politics, or moral decay—that we forget to look inward. And the truth is uncomfortable: the biggest threat to Adventism isn’t “them.” It’s us.
The founders of Adventism acted like they had nothing to lose. They faced public failure, ridicule, and heartbreak, yet they risked everything to follow God’s call. They didn’t wait for permission, approval, or comfort. They trusted God enough to pursue a mission bigger than themselves, and their faith was measured in courage, not conformity.
Today, we don’t need to abandon what works. Our institutions, hospitals, schools, and churches are gifts. But they should be tools for mission, not chains that limit risk, curiosity, or vision. Faith becomes stale when preservation replaces boldness. Obedience becomes dull when fear replaces God’s prompting.
With God, we can renegotiate our relationship with risk. We can trust that taking bold, faithful action—even when it feels uncertain—is not rebellion, but alignment with divine guidance. We can reclaim the nimbleness, audacity, and authentic courage of the pioneers while holding fast to what is true and lasting.
The movement that survived the Great Disappointment, theological battles, and social opposition can thrive again today. Adventism can be alive, daring, faithful, and resilient.
The world isn’t the problem. Our fear of risk is.
And with God, we can be bold again.
Adventism can be faithful, resilient, and unstoppable.
